Can you give more information about metal binding?

Metal binding – get a quote or check other binding styles: Wire, Coil, Comb, Thermal, Hard Case, Ring Binder, Booklet

Known as metal or channel binding.

Metal binding is a bar crimped on the edge of document. With its full metal channel structure, metal binding would convert your document into a book, which is not widely seen. If you want your document or importance given to a project noticed or if you want to deliver your project in a different binding, metal binding is a great option to choose. With this binding, your sales pitch, draft book, design or architectural projects would be raised up few notches.

Metal binding is slightly more expensive option than wire or comb binding.

Customisation Options

Metal binding comes with black spine option. All other customisation options, available for wire or comb binding are also available for metal binding. You can print front and back pages on white or coloured card, add clear or frosted plastic outer covers. If your document is in black and white, printing front and back covers in colour can be a nice addition.

Binding Size

Metal binding is available in A4 size with long edge binding or it is available in A3 size with short edge binding. If you need in A3 size with long edge binding, PrintPond’s offer is wire binding.

Limitations

We would advise minimum 3cm margin on the binding edge. Metal binding has a minimum sheet of paper limit, which very much depends to the weight of paper. If your document is less than 15 sheets of paper -15 pages single sided or 30 pages double sided- better to consider other binding options. Maximum page limit is 280 sheets of paper -280 pages single sided or 560 pages double sided. If you prefer heavier paper stock like 100gsm or more, number of pages would go down.
